I've been going to QT-U for years now - overall its been a good experience. But I suggest they train their Friendlies to ESTIMATE THE WAIT TIMES BETTER. One Service Friendly told me my car would be finished in an hour, when he knew it would take much longer (over 2 hours) due to the number of cars ahead of me and number of Service Friendlies available. With an honest estimate I could have planned my morning in ways other than zombie-ing out in their nice waiting area. Also with bigger repair jobs, get a second estimate.

I went there because my timing belt tensioner was hard to install for myself.So I towed my car and the Manager, I think his name is Mike fixed it just like a PRO! I will always bring my cars to this shop. They have honesty written all over their work! Karl Saito

Our car broke down an hour from home and was towed to this Quality Tune-up where we met Michael. He was professional, yet friendly. Half my family could not go in the tow truck and were stuck out by the initial break down. He arranged for another customer to take me to my family and bring them back to the station. Then he ran diagnostics on the car and determined that I needed a new transmission. We were not charged for anything saying " you will be paying enough for that new transmission". We were stuck far from home and could have been taken advantage of very easily. They were honest and more than helpful. Michael made a challenging situation much easier. Being around the shop for a while, I was able to see Michael interact with many customers and talk with them. They all had good things to say about the shop. Another impressive part of the story occurred during a slow period with his staff. They were all taking a break, standing around when Michael started emptying all the trash cans around the place. His staff jumped in around the 3rd can and helped clean up without him asking. Thanks Michael.

You find out how good a Quality Tune-Up and Repair Shop is until you experience a possible warranty issue. We've been taking our 2001 Van to Mike for years but early Sunday morning he was off so his well-trained team had to look over a power steering leak. The cheerful but very busy supervisor on duty quickly determined it could be related to a previous power steering rack repair and that the it could be covered by their warranty! Mike and his team's 'commitment-to-quality' totally impressed the wife as where else can you get a expensive warranty repair done early on Sunday morning? San Jose's Quality Tune-Up Shop #8 can now count my wife as a very satisfied long-time customer.

I was super impressed with the service I received this last sunday. I was on a business trip to Carmel and a bunch of lights came on my dash and my car would lose power or stutter when in the lower RPMS. I called every place on earth to try and get some service in Carmel since I was nervous about driving back to San Jose with the issues I was experience. Alot of places are closed on sunday, especially in Carmel, so I called Quality Tune Up since they are close to my home. The guy I spoke with on the phone new exactly what was going on with my car based on the symptoms I described and assured me that although it wouldn't be the smoothest ride home, my car would be ok to get it to their shop from Carmel. When I got there they were extremely busy with a line out the door, I thought for sure they wouldn't have my car ready by 5 since I hadn't gotten there until almost 12:30. Not only did they finish (EARLY might I add) they didn't charge me for the diagnostic test since they were able to figure out what was wrong before they had to run it. They saved me well over $100 and allowed me to use a coupon I had for a oil change and tire rotation. I have NEVER gotten out of a car servicing for what I paid them, and I definitely have never been treated with such courtesy and consideration. I am a die hard QTU customer for life and will continue to come here for anything we need. THANKS GUYS!!!!

New to the area and ended up gong to Quality mainly because they were open on Sunday. They took me with no problem, got it done quickly, for a good price (25 bucks for an oil change) and were really friendly and courteous in the process. They even told me my car was in good shape aside from needing the oil change and didn't try to upsell me anything I didn't need, which I have had some bad experiences from shops over. I'll be a repeat customer!

I've been going to Quality for years. I've strayed to other mechanics because they were "cheaper" but, I always end up back at Quality and here's why.... Mike is about as honest as they come. I took my truck in today to get a tune-up and a brake job. I'm taking a road trip and wanted to make certain I was good to go. Tune-up because it was time and brakes because they were squeaking and i just assumed. He quoted me a ballpark on the phone of about $300+ (for brakes) before I brought my truck down. Fine! I need 'em. After dropping off my truck I received a call from Mike.... Your brakes are great! The squeak is just a squeak. No big deal! Who does that? All the other shops I've taken my vehicles to have found numerous extra's, costing me plenty, only to find out later that I could have done without the extra work. I've lost a lot of money going to the "cheaper" spots. I cannot list all of the great "Quality" service stories here. Believe me though... There are many! Friendly! Competent! Honest! I won't be going anywhere else again.

Called them for a routine oil change. headed down, decent price, $30 for an oil change and they said it would be about 35mins. After they took my car and were getting ready to prop it up, some guy swooped in and they started servicing him? courteous? a line is a line.. soon afterwards they started changing my oil. I saw them check the tire pressure and adjust while waiting for the oil to drain.. cat cut the line then they apologized for the wait? it took longer than 35. nothing special, I drove 15 minutes out of my way because they were rated so highly on yelp. #geeze #getyelped

I get my car repaired here as well as regular oil changes and maintenance. The staff are friendly and honest and will not try to sell you on repairs you don't need. Mike the manager will always put your safety first and is very knowledgeable about auto repair.
