I was getting tired of getting gouged at the dealerships on repairs with inflated labor costs and unnecessary recommendations, so I did some Yelp research and found Quality Tune Up which was pretty close to where I live. I've driven by it many times and eaten at Foster's Freeze next door, so I knew exactly where it was located. I showed up on a Saturday afternoon and didn't need an appointment. There was a couple ahead of me in at the counter, but I only waited a few minutes. The gentleman who helped me was friendly and easy going. Because of the storm the other night, the phone lines had been knocked out so he apologized that the electronic credit card reader was out of service but they could still do it the old-fashioned way with carbon copies. I told him some of the recommendations from the dealership and asked for a quote. It ended up being about $250 less! He said it would take about 1-2 hours at the most and he would give me a call when it's ready. There is a waiting area with WiFi but of course it wasn't working because of the phone service down. I killed time at Big Lots and Starbucks, which are both within a few blocks. I got a call in less than 90 minutes to pick up the car. The owner Zack helped me check out--he is a super nice, genuine guy and took the time to show me the old spark plugs that were replaced and made the whole experience a quick and painless one--not just in the wallet! I would definitely go back and recommend going to Quality!
