Took my KIA Optima to them on a Thursday in order to look at an issue involving sudden / temporary loss of power when driving as well as an audible clicking. $165 later, they told me there was nothing wrong and could not reproduce the problem. The problem persisted upon driving and by Saturday the car had completely died (engine seized). Money well spent.
Aaron, Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We are sorry to hear about the issues you encountered with your vehicle. We do strive to provide thorough inspections to identify any potential issues that may arise in older vehicles like yours. We did perform a physical inspection of your vehicle. We also scanned the ECM to look for any fault codes or any history that your ECM found of your motor not operating in the proper manner. There we no stored codes or history. We also did not see any abnormalities while we ran your motor at idle in the service bay with the diagnostic scanner connected. We then test drove your vehicle with our diagnostic scanner storing the data and still found no abnormalities. We never experienced the temporary loss of power you described. So, we were not able to duplicate the problem you spoke about during the hour we spent with your vehicle. We did note that your vehicle was one quart low on oil, which could be a contributing factor to engine troubles. We topped off the oil and advised you to return if the problem gets worse or the check engine light comes on for a complimentary checkup. We value your feedback and will take it into consideration as we continue to improve our services. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any further concerns or questions. Thank you for choosing us for your automotive needs. The Quality Tune Up Car Care Team
